The Import-Export Department recently cited the latest report of the Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) as saying that global natural rubber output in March reached 751 thousand tons, an increase of 3.4% compared to the previous year. Rubber output from the two main producing countries, Thailand and Indonesia (accounting for about 51% of total global rubber) decreased due to the impact of the El Nino phenomenon, as well as the shift in production of farmers.

Booming tire production in China has boosted rubber demand in 2023. Furthermore, the global rubber shortage is exacerbated by uneven growth in production and consumption.

ANRPC forecasts that in 2024, global natural rubber output will reach 14.54 million tons, an increase of 1.6% compared to 2023. Of which, Vietnam's output is expected to increase by 2.9%. .

Regarding consumption, ANRPC forecasts that global natural rubber consumption in 2024 will reach 15.7 million tons, an increase of 3% compared to 2023. In particular, Malaysia will become a bright spot in natural rubber consumption, forecast Malaysia's natural rubber consumption will grow by 45.4% compared to 2023. China's consumption is expected to increase by 5.5%; Vietnam increased by 6%.
