Vietnam's rubber market share in China's total import value in the first 7 months of 2022 accounted for 15.4%, higher than 15.3% in the first 7 months of 2021.
The Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) cited statistics from the Chinese Customs Administration as saying that in the first seven months of 2022, China's rubber import value (HS 4001, 4002, 4003, 4005) reached $7.73 billion, up more than 10% over the same period in 2021.
Vietnam is the second largest rubber supplier to China with nearly $1.2 billion, up 10.6% over the same period in 2021. Vietnam's rubber market share in China's total import value in the first 7 months of 2022 accounted for 15.4%, higher than 15.3% in the first 7 months of 2021.
According to the Import-Export Department, China is still the main market for Vietnam's rubber latex and semi-processed rubber exports in the last 5 months of 2022. However, supply chain disruptions due to the "Zero--" China's Covid" will continue to affect China's rubber consumption in 2022.
In the first 7 months of 2022, China's import value of natural rubber (HS 4001) reached 2.33 billion USD, up 14.8% over the same period in 2021, mainly imported from the following markets: Thailand, Malaysia, Ivory Coast, Indonesia, Vietnam and Laos.
Vietnam is the 5th largest natural rubber supplier to China with US$169 million, up nearly 33% over the same period in 2021. Vietnam's natural rubber market share accounts for 7.3% of the total value. China's import price, higher than 6.3% in the first 7 months of 2021.
China also boosted the import of natural rubber from markets such as Ivory Coast, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines... while reducing imports from some markets such as Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Sry Lanka...
In the first 7 months of 2022, China's import value of a mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber (HS 400280) reached US$3.14 billion, up 14.7% over the same period in 2021.
Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar and Indonesia are the 5 largest markets supplying a mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber to China.
Vietnam is the second largest supplier of natural rubber and synthetic rubber to China with more than 1 billion USD, up 7.6% over the same period in 2021.
The market share of mixed natural rubber and synthetic rubber of Vietnam accounted for 32.1% of the total import value of natural rubber and synthetic rubber of China, lower than 34.3 % of the first 7 months of 2021.
China also boosted the import of natural and synthetic rubber mixtures from markets such as Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines; while reducing imports from Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan… over the same period of 2021.
